Win7 beta7000:Win7 install process correctly id'd my network & set it up using dhcp. After successful install, I went back and configured the NIC with a fixed ip and "joined" an existing "Home Network." Now, I didn't notice when it started but over the last few days, the system has been reporting TWO network connections. 1st connection is reported as "Network local area and internet" and is classified as a "Home Network." The 2nd cnxn is reported as "Network local area and internet" and is classified as a "Unidentified." Both are identified as having the same card. They have same MAC, the same the same IPv4 and IPv6 information. Both show the same amount of data transferred. If I disable either one, both connections go down and I'm off the network. Re-enable either one and everything is fine again. Except that there are two of the same connection showing.Ideas?tia,-Craig

Take a look at the device name and see if that is the same. Do you have any virtualization technologies installed on your computer?

Darien;Thanks for the reply. The first network was called "Home network." The second, "unknown network." As a work-around I physically unplugged the cat5 and began going through the network wizard's discovery process. Once it id'd itself as standalone, I reconnected the cat5 & relaunched the wizard yet again.Now, only one "Home network" shows. If there's a log file or something you'd like for me to take a look at, let me know. Otherwise, I'm off to figure out a stalled mouse <grin>.regards,-Craig

Just wanted to note that I have been having a very similar problem,Whenever I reboot I get two network connection items created, and no acutal connectivity. Once I disable and re-enable the network card it picks up on connection item and all is well.Can't provide more info right now, but will add more later.cheers-Jonathan

I have the same thing - two networks, disabling and then enabling the network card in Device manager unites them. I had the same problem with the beta (build 7000) but in that the Diagnose process always cleared the problem.

Do you have iTunes installed? If so, please read the KB article at http://support.microsoft.com/?id=970313which provides a work-around.

That removed one of the networks. Unfortunately the one it removed was the real one, not the Unidentified one, and as a result I still had no connections. However, given that disabling and reenabling the network adaptor fixes the issue and that I have Bonjour from modo, three Adobe CS4 applications and probably Quicktime, it does sound as if that is the cause even if something is keeping the cure from working.

Try disabling the Bonjour service from services.msc andrebooting to see if that addresses the issue. If not, please provide the output of 'ipconfig /all'.

Yes, that works. Now of course the question will be whether the Adobe apps and modo still work - but even if it is necessary to restore Bonjour, at least the problem has an explanation and may be fixed by future updates from Apple. Thanks.

Thanks, looks like disabling Bonjour from Serices.msc worked so far.
